St. Martin and St. Maarten Sights

Le Galion

Fodor's Review

A coral reef borders this quiet beach, part of the island's nature preserve, which is paradise if you are traveling with children. The water is calm, clear, and quite shallow, so it's a perfect place for families with young kids. It's a full-service place, with chair rentals, restaurants, and water-sports operators. Kite-boarders and windsurfers like the trade winds at the far end of the beach. On Sunday there are always groups picnicking and partying. To get to Le Galion,

follow the signs to the unmissable Butterfly Farm and continue toward the water. Amenities: food and drink; parking; toilets; water sports. Best for: partiers; swimming; windsurfing.
