Brand-new in 2008, the Westin has fabulous location on one of the island's best beaches, straddling the border of the Dutch and French side. An enormous pool, two excellent restaurants, four bars, a state-of-the art spa, fitness center, casino, nightclub, and family-friendly activities give you plenty of choices. The spacious rooms feature the chain's signature Heavenly beds and ample baths, flat-screen TVs, and balconies. The two bedroom suites and apartments are especially appealing, and if you are considering a condo or villa, those at the Westin certainly are worth considering. They're huge and equipped to perfection with wet bars, full kitchens, and electronics galore. Don't miss the incredible Sunday brunch on the patio overlooking the beach. Note that like all Westin properties, the resort is smoke-free. There is a ballroom and conference facilities that accommodate up to 1,000 guests. Dawn Beach is one of the most scenic spots on the island and the place to be at sunrise. Pros: on Dawn Beach; plenty of activities. Cons: very big; a bit off the beaten track.

We booked with Starwood (the preferred guest program) but the hotel did not received the booking (as the Starwood bookings are done via fax to the Westin in St Martin.)
We did not receive our complimentary welcome package (which was promised to us twice), but we received a room upgrade? where we had a full view of the restaurant and they had a full view of us (no privacy.)
But the room was gorgeous and the beds ARE heavenly .... as is everything else in the room.
We will stay here again next month when we go to St Martin.

We stay at Westin's all over. This one is comparable with the best. Had a starwood preferred room "partial ocean view" on the second floor near the front of the property. Had a fabulous view of the ocean and hills. Room service was great. Would highly recommend.
