Don't miss dinner at this romantic eatery, a perennial favorite for its ravishing cuisine, romantic ambience, and most of all the marvelously friendly owners. Didier Gonnon and Martyne Tardif are out front, while chef Mario Tardif is in the kitchen creating dishes such as sautéed sea scallops with crab mashed potatoes and truffle oil, baked mahimahi with a macadamia nut crust, orange-endive confit, and fennel salsa, and rack of lamb with caramelized onions and goat cheese.

My party of 6 was not pleased with the food last week at Mario's. We have been there before and thought it was just OK and decided to try it again. Four of us disliked our food. The duck was overcooked and dry. No one check with us about the food until the end of the meal. Then she said she wished that she knew earlier! Overpriced and overrated. We had 7 wonderful dinners in St. Maarten (Los Gaucho, Laguna, Mary's Boon, La Montmarte, Pizza Pasta, Beratzu, La Gondola) unfortunately Mario's was not one of them.
