An ideal location for shoppers and sun worshippers, this historic hotel faces the Front Street pedestrian mall; to the rear is the boardwalk and a lovely stretch of Great Bay Beach. The breezy lobby provides easy access from street to beach, and has free Internet access. Rooms were completely redecorated in a bright and clean euro-modern style with balconies, and small kitchenettes. Rooms on each floor have different pastel color accents, like pale lavender, or mint. The linens are Frette. The four spacious junior suites with seating areas and two flat screen TVs are worth asking for. First-rate restaurant. Pros: excellent location; free Wi-Fi; young, engaging management. Cons: in a busy location; no pool

Fourth floor ocean view is the way to go- superb views of the bay, cruise ships and sunsets. Very clean rooms and great ambience at the hotel's bar and restaurant. Note if you are renting a car, the east end of Front Street which includes the hotel entrance is closed to vehicle traffic during certain times of the day. Traffic from the airport and in Phillipsburg was INSANE, and finding a parking spot was high adventure! I recommend the free lot along the back lagoon by the University. The lot by the government building, which is about 2 blocks closer to the hotel, is not free Monday thru Saturday, cost us $15 overnight. Advise you have walking shoes and rolling luggage for walking to and from the hotel if you are in a rental car because of this road closure / parking situation. Once you're there, you'll find superb shopping, restaurants and beach activities right within walking distance from the hotel.
