Fodor's Review

A shaded courtyard welcomes guests at this quirky, informal guesthouse on a 3-mile-long (5-km-long) stretch of Simpson Bay. It has the funky feel of the Florida Keys. Pilot Mary Pomeroy chose this site because of its proximity to the airport. (Ask someone to tell you about her life and her mysterious disappearance.) If you like the idea of watching huge planes land, you will love it here. Renovated studio and one- and two-bedroom units have flat-screen TVs, wooden shutters with screens, cathedral ceilings, enormous four-poster beds, and verandas, although some furniture is mismatched and inelegant and the bathrooms are basic. Nevertheless, this feels like the old Caribbean. Each unit is different, so make your preferences known when you reserve. There is a small spa on the premises.
