Windsurfing in St. Martin and St. Maarten

The best windsurfing is on Galion Bay on the French side. From November to May, trade winds can average 15 knots. Club Nathalie Simon (Northern beach entrance, Baie Orientale. 590/29-41-57. www.wind-adventures.com) offers rentals and lessons in both windsurfing and kite surfing. One-hour lessons are about EUR 40. Windy Reef (Galion Beach, past Butterfly Farm, 97150. 590/87-08-37. www.windyreef.fr) has offered windsurfing lessons and rentals since 1991.
