Taxi Travel

Taxis are unmetered, although fares are fairly standard. Sample fares for up to four passengers are Castries to Rodney Bay, $20; Rodney Bay to Cap Estate, $10; Castries to Cap Estate, $25; Castries to Marigot Bay, $30; Castries to Anse La Raye, $40; Castries to Soufrière, $90; and Castries to Vieux Forte, $75. Always ask the driver to quote the price before you get in, and be sure that you both understand whether it's quoted in EC or U.S. dollars. Drivers are generally careful, knowledgeable, and courteous.
