Taxis are always available at the airports, the harbor, and in front of major hotels. They're unmetered, although nearly all drivers belong to a taxi cooperative and adhere to standard fares. Sample fares for up to four passengers are as follows: Castries to Rodney Bay, $20; Rodney Bay to Cap Estate, $10; Castries to Cap Estate, $25; Castries to Marigot Bay, $25; Castries to Anse La aye, $30; Castries to Soufrière, $70. Always ask the driver to quote the price before you get in, and be sure that you both understand whether it's quoted in EC or U.S. dollars. Drivers are careful, knowledgeable, and courteous.
