The only such attraction of its kind in the world, at least to date, Our Planet Centre is devoted to the many facets of the Earth's environment. It's a fascinating, educational stop for the entire family and an especially good option on a rainy day. The exhibits include an Immersion Tunnel, where you can see how the planet was created and grew into its current state; Hurricane Island, where touch screens allow you to manipulate weather patterns to create a hurricane; Mirrorsphere, which gives a kaleidoscopic view of Earth's plants and animals; Science on a Sphere, installed by NOAA/NASA, which views the Earth from space complete with real-time weather patterns that might include storms, earthquakes, volcanoes, and tsunamis; and—the best part—a laser show in the Special Effects Theatre, where the lighting, shaking seats, wind, and mist mimic extreme weather events.
