With more than 45 stores and a half-dozen restaurants, this two-level complex boasts boutiques, banks, a beauty salon, jewelry and souvenir stores, a large supermarket (great for snacks, picnic items, or a bottle of wine), and the island's only (so far) casino.

Leo and Hattie Barnard, who came to Saint Lucia from England, offer paintings and handmade greeting cards that capture the beauty of the island, along with souvenirs, palm crafts, and wood carvings made locally by Leo and others.

This workshop, studio, and art gallery has wall plaques, masks, and abstract figures hand-carved by sculptor Vincent Joseph Eudovic from local mahogany, red cedar, and eucalyptus wood.

This arts-and-crafts shop and studio (formerly Caribelle Batik), high atop Morne Fortune, is named for the old Victorian mansion in which the enterprise is housed. Craftspeople demonstrate the art of batik and silk-screen printing, which you can buy in the shop—along with chocolate products, coconut oil products, and gift items, all made in Saint Lucia. There's a terrace where you can have a cool drink and a garden full of tropical orchids and lilies. You can also take a tour of the estate, and they offer chocolate-making workshops.

A large supermarket is the focal point here, along with boutiques, restaurants, cafés, and other businesses that sell services and supplies. 

Artist and master carver Winston Fevrier sells his wood carvings and unique hand-painted masks, which are on display in his small studio perched on the cliff overlooking the village of Anse La Raye. As friendly as he is talented, Winston is a joy to chat with as you pick out a piece of local artwork to take home. He'll even carve something to order while you wait, if you wish.
