Dasheene Restaurant and Bar

Dasheene Restaurant and Bar Review

The terrace restaurant at Ladera resort has breathtakingly close-up views of the Pitons and the sea between them, especially beautiful at sunset. It's casual by day and magical at night. Executive-chef Orlando Satchell describes his creative West Indian menu as "sexy Caribbean." Appetizers may include grilled crab claws with a choice of dips or silky pumpkin soup with ginger. Typical entrées are triggerfish seasoned and soaked in lime and fish stock and cooked in banana leaves, shrimp Dasheene (panfried with local herbs), seared duck breast with passion-fruit jus, or baron fillet of beef with sweet potato and green-banana mash. Light dishes, fresh salads, and sandwiches are served at lunchtime.

We drove to Dasheene from the northern part of the island for lunch and the journey was worth it! The staff was lovely and the food was good but not excellent. The views were spectacular - overall would recommend Dasheene.

The place is to visit for the view. The rest is fine, but not outstanding. It's a long way from anywhere.
