In the most visually appealing location in St. Lucia, this resort flows down a steep hillside smack between the Pitons, on the remains of an 18th-century sugar plantation 2 mi (3 km) south of Soufrière. Sugar Mill rooms are large and close to the beach. Villas have elegant furnishings, huge bathrooms, and plunge pools; villa suites also have sitting rooms. Shuttles around the property save a climb up and down the hill. Meals range from fine dining to a beach buffet. The spa offers outdoor massage, aromatherapy, and beauty treatments; there are also fitness classes and weight-training sessions. The views here are the island's most dramatic.
