Getting Oriented

St. Lucia, 27 mi (43.5 km) by 14 mi (22.5 km) is a volcanic island covered to a large extent by a lush rain forest, which is protected as a national park. The small island has produced two Nobel Prize-winners, economist Sir Arthur Lewis and poet Derek Walcott. The most notable geological features are the twin Pitons, some 2,600 feet high.
