The "Snake Man."
Driving along the West Coast Road just north of Canaries, don't be surprised if you see a man selling coconuts on the northbound side of the road with a boa constrictor wrapped around his neck. The "snake man" has been a fixture here for years—usually from mid-morning to mid-afternoon—and we're sure the startled looks on tourists' faces give him a kick. Taxi drivers will stop if you want some coconut water or just a closer look. For a small tip, the "snake man" will let you take his picture—wearing his boa, of course.
