The only St. Kitts resort sitting directly on a Caribbean beach is incomparably located and restful. Smiling service and simple but sizable apartments make this a great budget find. Comfortable town-house-style units can be blocked off to form standard rooms. The oldest buildings right on the beach are larger and airier, with predictably better views. Third-floor suites also have breathtaking vistas, but beware the steep climb. It's an authentic island experience, from the verdant hillside setting to the line-drying sheets flapping in the breeze. Though you get ants on the march during damp weather (don't leave food out!), you also get bananaquits and bullfinches sharing your patio breakfast. Only rattling air-conditioners and rusty chipped fixtures detract from the idyllic atmosphere -- and you can always walk to the Marriott if you crave activity. On the beach are the decent Sunset Café, an unaffiliated water-sports concession, and several boisterous beach bars.

We stayed at TBR last January for two weeks. The one bedroom condo was perfect with a kitchen just right for breakfasts and lunches, a breathtaking view from the large patio and a bedroom and living room - pull out couch bed too - perfect for our family of 2 adults and one child. Every night we enjoyed drinks from our patio and watched the sun set over the Caribbean and the beach...great walking / crawling distance to many places to eat and drink. Our unit was clean and the staff were really fantastic - so accomodating and helpful with friendly smiles. We couldn't have been happier on our last visit and that is why we booked again for 2 weeks leaving in three!! I strongly recommend the island and even more Timothy Beach Resort!
