This thatched-palm roof and rough timber structure sports a sensuous South Seas look, best appreciated on the deck as the sun fireballs across the Caribbean. Inside, handsome teak furnishings are animated by Buddhas, parrot-hued throw pillows, batik hangings, and gauzy curtains. The fine Pacific Rim-Mediterranean fusion fare seems designed to complement the admirable wine selection -- second on the sister islands only to that of the Four Seasons -- rather than the other way around. Owners Gary and Karin Colt often bring winemaker friends in from Europe for tastings and dinners. Nonetheless, serious foodies won't be disappointed by the likes of plantain rolls with diced tiger shrimp in Colombo (curry) mango coulis or sliced flank beef steak in cabernet sauvignon butter garnished with truffled mashed potatoes. Happy hour 11 PM-midnight often ushers in impromptu dancing, continuing the "Bali high" theme.

we had our worst meal on a recent trip to nevis at coconut grove. frozen dry fish, a foul tasting hamburger, and miniscule overcooked shrimp on a skewer. the cocktails were great. and the bill was 125 for 3 for lunch.we were the only people there and the service was sweet but very slow.

Dinner at Coconut Grove should be added to your 'must do' list for your stay on Nevis. During our stay on Nevis we ate at all the top rated restaurants on the island. We ended up returning to Coconut Grove repeatedly as the service, food, atmosphere and wine selection was incomparable. The owner, Gary and his wife, are extremely attentive to detail and ensure that every guest is delighted with their dining experience. If you invite Gary to help with your wine selection you will ensure a perfect pairing. Be sure to treat yourself to the 'Chef's interpretation of a Brownie'... Incidentally, the wine selection is much more extensive than the Four Seasons. Enjoy!

This is a great place. The atmosphere is as good as the food is. Gary and Karin are wonderful hosts. We will be back in June!
