With its octagonal bar and casual atmosphere, Gallipot attracts locals with ultrafresh seafood at reasonable prices, marvelous views of St. Kitts from the beach, and sensational sunsets. Large Sunday lunches with ample portions (only one dish per week, usually classic roast beef and Yorkshire pudding) are a big draw. The Fosberys built the bar as an addition to their small beach house on quiet Tamarind Bay, while their daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Julian Rigby, provide fish through Nevis Water Sports, a charter-fishing company (fishnets and photos from their sportfishing championships grace the bar). Julian built a smoker (Tracy dubs it "the eyesore"), where he cures melt-in-your-mouth wahoo, kingfish, and sailfish carpaccio. Those seeking land specialties can happily tuck into the smoked duck, steak-and-kidney pie, or chicken korma curry, seasoned with herbs from Tracy's garden. Aside from their local customers, Gallipot attracts sailors with its moorings, showers, garbage-collection service, and laundry.

We will never visit Gallipot again and will advise others to do likewise. Go to Chevvies, Sunshines or any other restaurant/bar but do not go to the Gallipot - they are unecessarily arrogant and life's too short. Please don't think everyone from the UK are like this - we are not!!
