The personable, attentive Meguid family blends the intimacy of the plantation inns, contemporary amenities of the Four Seasons, and typical Nevisian warmth in this hilltop aerie. The former lime plantation (the wild trees' scent wafts on the breeze) affords sterling views from most rooms (request upper floors, which also have marvelous sloped hardwood cathedral ceilings). There's a well-equipped business center, a gym with inspiring water views, Jacuzzis on some outdoor suite decks, and complimentary cell phones (you pay only for calls). Other upscale touches include granite counters, Italian-tile baths, ultramodern kitchens in the superior suites, and CD and DVD players. Standard rooms or junior suites (which have a sitting area and kitchenette) can be combined with the superior suites (whose sofa beds make them good family buys). Some of the 10 new privately owned hillside villas are in the rental pool. You can luxuriate in a poolside hammock, catch the free shuttle to the beach club and its worthy tropically hued pizzeria-grill, or take an invigorating hike to the ruins of Thomas Cottle Church, an unusual historic site because both slave owners and slaves worshipped there.
