Statia Lodge Review

Look out from your cottage patio of the island's best digs and enjoy drop-dead-gorgeous views of St. Kitts and Nevis. Do an about-face and the Quill volcano looms. Each airy yet cozy cottage has attractive teakwood furnishings, tiled floors, ceiling fans, louverlike walls, and French doors, plus a patio with an outdoor kitchenette with tables and chairs. The wood-accented bathrooms each have corner showers. Rates include use of either a scooter or, for a bit extra, a car. No TVs or phones—just serenity. The bar sits alongside an attractive L-shape swimming pool. A restaurant next to the bar is due to open shortly if it hasn't already. Cribs are available for small children.
