The food can be really good -- and the service is always friendly -- at this restaurant on the far side of Gustavia harbor. The menu has been changed to emphasize the dishes that Frank, the amiable chef, does best, and the quality of everything continues to rise. Some of the best choices are specialties cooked on the elaborate gas rotisserie, including spit-roasted grouper, stuffed saddle of lamb, or five-spice honey pineapple duck. The pesto gnocchi are out of this world. Local businesspeople crowd the restaurant for the bargain prix-fixe lunch menu. The daily EUR 29 dinner menu is a pretty good deal, too. An old-fashioned dessert trolley showcases some really yummy sweets.

The Wall House is right on the water at the far end of Gustavia (next to the museum). The main attraction on the menu is meat cooked on a rotating spit. Dont be afraid to order the duck the wait staff will de-bone everything at your table. The waiters are all friendly young French expatriates and they will tell you where the good parties are (because they will be there themselves!).
