Wendy and Dennis Carlton, longtime St. Barth visitors, have renovated this eight-room inn in a Euro-meets-nautical theme, reflecting the eponymous art-deco ocean liner. The rooms are small but stylish, with good bathrooms, and will appeal to young visitors who will appreciate the in-town location and the clubby atmosphere of the small pool garden where breakfast and afternoon wine are served. Another thing is sure—there's nothing to compare at this price on the island. And, it's a two-minute walk to the beach. Pros: friendly management; pleasant atmosphere; good value. Cons: tiny rooms.

Normandie Hotel is fantastic, hands-down. The hotel has a warm, intimate, and welcoming ambiance. Staying here is like being invited to spend a week at the home of a good friend. Wendy and Dennis Carlton have made Normandie into an experience that gets better each day. Their staff, Camille and Jessica, are professional, friendly. and downright fantastic. Mariah, Beyonce....you can have the Guanahani and the Eden Roc...give me the Normandie all the time, anytime.
