This chic but casual boutique hotel right on busy St-Jean beach is fun for social types, and the nonstop house party often spills out onto the terraces and lasts into the wee hours. The gallery in the entryway features exhibitions that change each fortnight. A path winds through suites set in a garden, over a small pool via a small footbridge, into the hopping, open-air restaurant La Plage. Big, white plantation-style rooms have high ceilings, draped four-poster beds, nice baths, a TV with DVD player, direct-dial phones, and patios. Oceanfront suites are the most expensive. Rooms were redone in 2009 in the now-ubiquitious St. Barth white and taupe. Ask about various packages that provide perks like VIP transfer assistance from St. Maarten, Smart-Cars, and other goodies.
