Getting to St. Barths: There are no direct flights to St. Barths (SBH). You must fly to another island and then catch a smaller plane for the hop over. Most Americans fly first to St. Maarten, and then take the 10-minute flight to St. Barths, but you can also connect through St. Thomas or San Juan. There is ferry service from St. Martin (Voyager), but the schedules are really geared for day-trippers and locals, as the departures don't synch very well with most flights from the U.S. If you are planning to spend a few days in St. Martin first, though, the ferry is half the cost of the puddle-jumper.

Hassle Factor: Medium-high.

Nonstops: None.
