Many hotels offer free airport transfers. Otherwise, there's a taxi stand at the airport; unmetered taxis cost about EUR 10 to EUR 25, depending on distance. Settle on a fare before you get in. Taxis virtually disappear at night, so you'll probably need to rent a car during your stay; it's a necessity if you're staying in a villa. You might be able to rent a car directly from your hotel; otherwise, you should reserve one in advance of your trip. Some automatics are available, but you'll most likely get a small, manual four-wheel-drive vehicle. There are now some electric dune-buggy-like vehicles, and convertible Minis that make motoring around the island extra fun. Charges average about $55 a day; automatics usually cost more.
