Cottage Club Review

Form follows function at these gingerbread bungalows, where the price is right and the proximity to downtown is ideal. The reception area is a cozy room with black marble floors and beamed ceilings. The bungalows sprawl down the side of the mountain, affording a bird's-eye view of the surf crashing into the rocks hundreds of feet below. (Nos. 1, 2, and 6 have the most striking vistas.) A pool with an awesome panorama is tucked away in the trees, giving it the feel of a true tropical hideaway. Each room has a queen-size or double bed (one room has a king) and a TV. The larger rooms have a kitchenette; smaller ones have some kitchen facilities with stove. For $11.50 per person, breakfast is available from 7:30–9:30 am.
