If you like hiking and getting back to nature, then this lodge, a five-minute walk deep in the rain forest, is for you. It is primarily solar powered, which means mostly sun showers, no television, and candlelight after dark. Five of the 12 cottages have hot tubs, but they're very basic (their charm comes from ornate nature-theme wall paintings and starry ceilings done by local artist Heleen Cornet). The bathroom showers, some heated by propane, have a spout coming out of the ceiling. Interspersed among the cottages are herb and vegetable gardens, whose produce is used in the Rainforest Restaurant. A swimming pool is cleaned using an environmentally sensitive process. Other amenities include a sauna and a kid's pool with waterslide. Breakfast is available for an additional charge.
