Fodor's Review

Susie's is truly the island's only upscale restaurant, yet it's casual and unpretentious. Sanjuanera owner-chef Susie Hebert learned her culinary skills at San Juan's swank Caribe Hilton and Ritz-Carlton hotels before settling on Culebra and opening her fine-dining restaurant, a soothing Zen space filled with banquettes, pillows, and couches. A lively bar opens onto patio dining off the canal. The Caesar salad here excels; follow with sautéed jumbo shrimp in ginger-lime

and coconut vinaigrette, Szechuan-style sesame-crusted tuna, or mahi mahi with beurre blanc and scallion-ginger sauce. Feeling carnivorous? The filet mignon with a simple truffle au jus is divine.
