Straddling a ridge that guarantees the breezes, this simple property is also a sure bet for winning views south over the harbor and north over the isle. Both Dewey township and Playa Melones—good for snorkeling—are mere minutes' stroll away. The digs here are free-standing wooden cabins with lofty beamed ceilings, simple kitchenettes, and a bare modicum of furnishings. In fact, it's the antithesis of luxe. But travelers who shun pretension and pampering will appreciate this rustic escape for what it is, in spite of its need of a general sprucing up. Clearly, guests are expected to get out and about, but the balconies are conducive to lazing and savoring the views. The restaurant here is one of the island's best. Owners Jane and Druso Daubon live on site.
