El San Juan Hotel & Casino Review

Much of the classical appeal remains at this don't-miss destination in Isla Verde: the intricately hand-carved mahogany walls and ceiling in the lobby date back to 1955. Beneath the coffered ceiling are three bars, including the Blue Bar, down a few steps from the lobby and set below a massive oval-shaped chandelier. You'll find the burnished warmth of Gold Bar on the right (designated for tequila tastings) and the shimmering Silver Bar on the left. The pool area is furnished with a trio of poolside cabañas with indulgent amenities that include televisions and four-poster beds draped in curtains. (Some guests opt for breakfast in these beds.) Brava, a two-level nightclub, draws a hip crowd. Rooms are larger than most on the island and have modern white furnishings with a few colorful accents. All have CD players and iPod docks.
