Somewhat dowdy on the outside and modern on the inside, the 16-story InterContinental's main draws are its great onsite restaurants, pool, and spectacular beachfront location. The curvy balconies on the facade are old-fashioned, and the low-ceilinged lobby does not invite you to linger. But the contemporary, spacious rooms, which are decorated in soothing shades of white, Caribbean blue, and brown, have pleasant views of the ocean or the city; the suites overlook the palm-shaded
pool area. The recently renovated casino is just off the lobby, and the many on-site restaurants include the poolside Ciao Mediterranean, Ruth's Chris Steak House, and the Japanese restaurant Momoyama.
