Pikayo
Pikayo Review
Celebrity chef and Puerto Rico native Wilo Benet's flagship restaurant makes the most of its elegant surroundings at the Conrad San Juan Condado Plaza hotel. Works from local artists line the walls, and the atmosphere is formal but never hushed. The menu offers a twist on traditional Puerto Rican classics as well as more international flavors. Start with a glass of Benet's own wine, either a simple tempranillo (red) or an albariño (white). Then try some of the starters; particularly good are the pork belly sliders and the spicy tuna on crispy rice (known here as pegao). For main courses, options include lamb chops with wild mushrooms and a Dijon mustard demiglace, and jumbo shrimp with celery root purée and a chorizo emulsion. Don't be surprised if Benet himself stops by your table to make sure everything is just to your liking.

The food was excellent, my wife love a good excerpt and it just happens to be one of their signature dishes, I go anywhere for a good foie gras, theirs was great. My wife will only eats fish that's really great, and she thought the fish was outstanding. Everything including the deserts were first class.
The service was top notch, we did not have reservations and restaurant was booked so we took a tall table near the bar, but the service from the servers, sommelier, etc were all cheerful and helpful. Chef Bennett came to my wife and me and talk for a bit, adding a nice personal touch to the experience.
The atmosphere and ambiance was just go relaxing yet fun, we thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening.
Defiantly somewhere we would go again. -
