Tamboo
Tamboo Review
Here is a bar and grill that doesn't fall too far into either category. The kitchen prepares a wide range of unique items, from king-crab sandwiches to baby-back ribs brushed with guava sauce. Despite the laid-back atmosphere, the food presentation is fit for a high-end restaurant. The open-air bar serves a mean mojito, recently voted the best on the island. The deck is a great place to watch novice surfers wipe out on the nearby beach. On weekends, you can enjoy live music.

We heard so much about this place that we knew it was going to be a destination on our trip. When we finally arrived, there was no one to greet us, so we seated ourselves.
The view was beautiful, if you looked past the deck that was falling down onto the beach. Locals later told us it had been like that for a while.
Several minutes later a waitress asked us if we wanted menus and took our drink order. The sign on the bar said "Bacardi flavors $2" so I ordered Bacardi Limon.
As people began to file in, it was dinner time, we noticed there was only one waitress, one bartender and three chefs. As the place began to fill up, the service got worse. When we finally got our food order in we also asked for some bug spay. The waitress was nice and said of course she had some and would bring it right over. We never saw her again until she brought our food.
When our food arrived it was bland, cold and mediocre. We ordered the salmon stuffed tostones which tasted like cement and the calamari, although tender, had no flavor.
By the time our waitress returned, we had had empty drinks for a while and could not eat anything else. We asked for the check.
The check reflected a full price Bacardi drink for me and when I asked and pointed out the sign, I was told that it didn't include Bacardi Limon. As well the gratuity was included so no matter how terrible the service or the food, the tip was to be paid.
I will never go back to this place and have no idea why it had such good reviews. -

We stayed the Beside the Point Inn to which Tamboo belongs, so we ate here a handful of times. I loved the menu, because there was a variety to order and neither of us ate something twice. Everything we had from king crab wrap to calamari salad was delicious and hit the spot every time. The crowd is a chill and whimsical beach crowd. The staff is very friendly, if alittle over -loaded at times. It was so fun and calming to enjoy the beach scenes, surfers, drinkers, etc while enjoying our meals. My only complaint is that it is too expensive for the style place that it is and the food it serves. But it didn't stop us
