A trio of lighting fixtures—resembling Chinese lanterns designed by Salvador Dalí—let you know that this is not the kind of place that serves moo goo gai pan. This Pan-Asian eatery has the same clean lines and airy spaces as the string of designer stores that are its downstairs neighbors. And judging from the bags they are carrying, many of the hip young customers are fortifying themselves after an exhausting day in Chanel, Gucci, and Ferragamo. This is designer food, and it fits beautifully. Start with the pork dumplings, made with shaved truffles and topped with flying fish roe that adds just the right amount of saltiness. The entrées include soy-glazed salmon with coconut hash and veal steak with lobster mashed potatoes.

I live in San Juan, Puerto Rico... so i do go out to eat a lot! This place is amazing, the food is awesome, service is great, the decoration is sort of latin asian... its in Condado, across the street from La Concha hotel.. which is a GREAT night spot, for drinks and socializing... so you can go eat first at Budatai and then walk across to La Concha and have some more drinks with the locals!
