The name refers to the address, but Numero Uno is also how this small hotel rates with its guests. It's not unusual to hear people trading stories about how many times they've returned to this relaxing retreat. Behind a whitewashed wall is a patio where you can catch some rays beside the pool, dine in the restaurant, or enjoy a cocktail at the bar. A few steps away, a sandy beach beckons; guests are provided with beach chairs and umbrellas. Rooms are decorated in sophisticated shades of cream and taupe; several have ocean views. Pros: sophisticated rooms; beautiful beach; friendly staff. Cons: neighborhood is too quiet for some.

I stayed at Numero Uno Guesthouse over the Memorial Day weekend, and I loved it. The best part of my stay was the excellent customer service I received from the entire staff. I also loved Pamela's Restaurant located inside the guesthouse; both the food and the service were exceptionally good. Pamela's is pricey, but worth every dime. The continental breakfasts are also a plus at Numero Uno. Finally, I liked the fact that Numero Uno faces a beautiful beach that is popular with tourists and locals alike. I would definitely go back to this guesthouse.
