Fodor's Review:

Here is a bar and grill that doesn't fall too much into either category. The open-air kitchen prepares any number of unusual items, from king-crab sandwiches to chicken-and-basil wraps. The bar, also open to the elements, serves a mean margarita. Happy hour sometimes starts dangerously early -- at 10 AM on Saturday. The deck is a great place to watch the novice surfers wipe out on the nearby beach.

Food and Style as Great as the View, Alittle Too Expensive

Posted by Carolina_L from Charleston, SC on 3/17/08

We stayed the Beside the Point Inn to which Tamboo belongs, so we ate here a handful of times. I loved the menu, because there was a variety to order and neither of us ate something twice. Everything we had from king crab wrap to calamari salad was delicious and hit the spot every time. The crowd is a chill and whimsical beach crowd. The staff is very friendly, if alittle over -loaded at times. It was so fun and calming to enjoy the beach scenes, surfers, drinkers, etc while enjoying our meals. My only complaint is that it is too expensive for the style place that it is and the food it serves. But it didn't stop us:)
