In the mood for a hamburger or club sandwich? Then this laid-back restaurant is a good choice. The seating is in comfortable wooden booths that overlook Playa Jobos—but the wind that whips up the waves may also blow away your napkin. In the evening the menu changes to more substantial fare, with everything from shrimp scampi to baby back ribs. Many people just come for the socializing and the sunsets.

I have to largely agree with GoBears. I recently visited Happy Belly's 3 times during a week-long trip. The first 2 were on Thursday & Friday around 4 PM, and the place was practically empty, so the service was just fine. Our waiter was Joey, who we had some good conversation with. He seemed like the type of guy who would be hustling no matter the circumstances and that's probably why he's the longest tenured staff member at Happy Belly's besides the owner. The nachos, yuca sticks, tostones, rice & beans, and mahi mahi were GREAT.
We made the mistake of going back on Sunday when the place was packed. No sign of Joey, just two incredibly lazy girls. We placed an order for 2 margaritas and dinner. 30 minutes went by and we still hadn't even gotten our drinks. Meanwhile, we saw people who had just walked in get served drinks quicker. What a shame and what bad business (not that these 2 girls gave a damn). We would have been perfectly content had they gotten us drinks and kept them coming. They probably could have had us $30 in the hole on margaritas before they brought us dinner; we would have enjoyed drinking it up and soaking in the wonderful view. Instead, we had to walk out in frustration. On the way out the waitress said our order was just about ready - yeah, okay.
All in all, great atmosphere, good food, but you really need to pick your spots with this place.

This is one of the most beautifully settings along the west coast in PR. The surfing is great, the view is excellent, the place is clean, and the food is decent. It's a good burger joint. Unfortunately the service is extremely poor. The wait is 30 to 45 minutes to get your food and it is not strange to see people just walk out in frustration. It is vastly understaffed or wrongstaffed. Some of the servers spend more time on their cellphones than making sure the food is served once it is ready. If it weren't for the ocean front, this place would be totally bankrupt by now.
