Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra

San Juan
Fodor's Review:
The island's orchestra is one of the most prominent in the Americas. Its 76 members perform a full 48-week season that includes classical-music concerts, operas, ballets, and popular-music performances. The orchestra plays most shows at Centro de Bellas Artes Luis A Ferré, but it also gives outdoor concerts at museums and university campuses around the island, and has an educational outreach program in island schools. Pablo Casals served as the impetus to this group, helping to create it in 1956.
