Puerto Rico Heineken Jazzfest

Fodor's Review:

San Juan is a great place to hear jazz, particularly Latin jazz, and the annual Puerto Rico Heineken Jazzfest, which takes place in June, is one of the best opportunities for it. Each year's festival is dedicated to a particular musician. Honorees have included Chick Corea, Mongo Santamaria, and Tito Puente. Although the festival was born at the Tito Puente Amphiteatro, it has since moved to the Puerta de Tierra oceanside park and sports facility right outside Old San Juan. With the Atlantic surf crashing outside the park and the stars overhead, it's a stimulating atmosphere in which to soak up fine jazz music.
