Fodor's Review:
This affordable hotel is near the best and worst of Old San Juan. On the plus side, it's on a lively street lined with restaurants and bars. On the bad side, the street can be noisy. For less clamor, opt for a room at the back. Rooms in the five-story building won't win any prizes, but they are clean and comfortable. The open-air restaurant on the top floor has expansive views of the barrel-tile rooftops. The friendly staff goes above and beyond the call of duty, arranging for your laundry to be washed or confirming that your flight is departing on time.

I would stay here again, it is easy and convenient, nice, friendly, a little noisy, but quaint. If you are not spending much time in the room, this may be the place. The trip to the rain forest was just fine and a must for a vacation here.

Location is Everything

This is the perfect hotel for the active traveler. We do not spend much time in our hotels when we travel, but do prefer that it is convenient. The Milano is absolutely in the middle of everything in Old San Juan. So while the room is drab, the water pressure nil, the ammenities lacking, it is too convenient to matter. By the way, I was very dissappointed to arrive and find out that the rooftop restaurant and bar are closed, since September of 2007. They did not suggest that it would open any time soon. I felt that they should decrease their rates without this ammenity. Still, I would definately stay again for the location.
