Casa del Libro

Fodor's Review:

On a pleasant side street, this 18th-century house contains a museum dedicated to the artistry of the printed word. The 6,000-piece collection includes some 200 rare volumes dating back more than 500 years, as well as what appears to be legal writing on a fragment of clay from 2,000 years ago. Also on hand are several antique printing presses, one constructed in 1812 in France and later brought to Puerto Rico. There are interesting temporary exhibits as well.

  • Cost: $2 donation suggested
  • Open: Tues.-Sat. 11-4:30
