The Yunque Mar Hotel & Parador Review

This cute little hotel is just west of the popular Balneario Monserrate/Luquillo Beach, but the beach here is nearly as nice and almost always deserted. The pastel exterior and balconies dotted with purple flowers add charm, though a sign off the kitschy boat-shaped bar that reads "Welcome to paradise" might be overstating things a bit. Spanish-colonial-style barrel-tile roofs and white stucco walls surround modest rooms that span two floors. The upstairs ocean-view rooms, some with balconies, cost more but are worth the $10 splurge. At high tide the water meets the building off the backyard beachfront, and the adjacent patio offers killer views.
