Passports & Visas

U.S. citizens don't need passports to visit Puerto Rico, and there is no passport control either to or from Puerto Rico; in this respect, flying here is just like traveling on any domestic flight. Nevertheless, it's always wise to carry some form of identification that proves your citizenship, and we still recommend that you carry a valid passport when traveling to Puerto Rico; it's a necessity if you are making any other trips around the Caribbean, except to the U.S. Virgin Islands, where you will pass through customs but not passport control.
