You could make a meal of the small dishes that dominate the menu at this tapas restaurant. You won't go wrong ordering the sweet sausage in brandy or the turnovers stuffed with lobsters and passing them around the table. If you're not into sharing, there are five different kinds of paella that arrive on huge plates. There's a long, lively bar inside; one dining area overlooks a pleasant courtyard, whereas the other takes in the action along Calle Cristo. Even if you have dinner plans elsewhere, consider stopping here for a nightcap.

Entrees were great, special drinks and atmosphere. A little under staffed but worth it.

YUM!

located in the gorgeous El Convento this is one of my favorite restaraunts. I live here in Puerto Rico and some of food here isn't as good as in the states but this is an exception! The thing that really wows me is the atmosphere the outside eating area is gorgeous! The food is also pretty good. I believe this is the only tapas bar in the San Juan area and is well worth the visit!

NEW AMBIENCE IN AN OLD WORLD SETTING

We were in Puerto Ricco over the Thanksgiving holiday. We went to restaurants like Pikayo and Ramiro's where food is outstanding. El Picoteo has not only great food and fantastic waiters, it also is in an old convent built in 1651 and you could feel the history. A must see when you're in Puerto Rico.
