Trees overflowing with bananas, papayas, and passion fruit line the walkway that leads to one of Culebra's best eateries. Chef Jennifer Daubon, whose parents also ran a restaurant on the island, focuses on the freshest local produce, which is why about an acre of land on the surrounding hillside is used for growing vegetables and herbs. The menu changes with the seasons, but look for dishes like lobster limonjili, which is medallions of lobster in a fresh lime and garlic sauce. The dining room, with its low lights and soft music, is the most romantic in Culebra.

Who would have thought that the tiny, laid-back island of Culebra could boast of a first class restaurant? Up the hill out of town towards Melones Beach and a turn at Harbourview Villas brings you to Juanita Bananas and the exquisite cuisine of chef, Jennifer Daubon. Jennifer has a magic touch with the fresh tropical ingredients that surround Juanita Bananas and its hard to go wrong with any choice from her well planned menu. Don't miss it! I can't wait to go back!RATING: 4.2
