Baños de Coamo

Hot Springs / Spas, Coamo

User Rating: *** 2.5

Fodor's Review:

Outside Coamo on Route 546 you can take a dip at the famous Baños de Coamo, thermal springs that are said to have curative powers. Parador Baños de Coamo allows day-trippers to bathe in its own warm pool for $5 (parador guests enjoy it on the house). There's also a free public bathing area at the end of a path behind the parador.

Major disappointment

Posted by jasy from Miami, Florida on 7/11/08

We were all expecting to swim in a warm, geyser-like lake. When we arrived, all there was to swim in was an old decrepid pool that was full or damage. We stayed for a little while, but it was very disappointing. As we were exiting, we asked if that was the actual spring, but were told that a tree was taken out, ruining the springs pasageway for people to swim in. You can't actually swim in the spring, just a pool with old spring water that isn't even that warm.

Cure your ills in the Hot Springs

Great stop-off on an island tour. The Parador is one of the better on the island, but the baths will only kep you occupied for an hour or so.
