Halfway between Arecibo and Hatillo, this diner is packed with locals, especially on weekends. You can sit at the curvy counter or at one of the cozy booths. A favorite dish on the long menu is carne mechada (stuffed pot roast). Breakfast is also served starting at 5 AM.

It is a rare trip when we do not stop at El Buen Cafe to savor our first Puerto Rican cooking (comida criollo) on the Island during our drive from San Juan to the west coast.RATING: 4.6
