The year's big event is St. Patrick's Day, which ushers in a week of festivities, highlighted by musical concerts and masquerades à la Carnival. Tourism Week, usually late September or early October, encourages village competitions in music, dance, crafts, and food.

Late October's Police, Fire, Search, and Rescue Services Community Week also explodes with sound and color, as jump-ups, concerts, and barbecues lure hundreds of revelers. Mid-December into the New Year sees Christmas festival celebrations, from Calypso competitions to pageants and parades.
