Hotel Plein Soleil Review

Long one of our favorites, this heavenly hideaway is now a Martinique landmark. Accommodations are in Creole cases (cottages)—painted red, purple, and subtle earth tones—with moderne bathrooms and terraces that maximize the glorious sea view. The decor throughout is enlivened with the designer offerings from Bangkok and objets d'art. Scattered among the lush grounds are five cases with multiple accommodations—some are bi-level—and most (not guest rooms) have private plunge pools; massages and other spa services are available. With a fishpond at its entrance, the terrace restaurant also boasts a deck with monumental bay views. Renovations in 2013 included new plunge pools for the former master rooms and exterior beautification projects. Breakfast is now optional and not included in listed rates.
