On the breezy Atlantic coast, on a point facing the ocean, with a wide sweep of lawn, this private villa is 15 minutes from the unspoiled town of Le François. A charming wooden villa embellished with Victorian fretwork, it replicates the colonial homes of the plantation era, with its wooden trey ceilings and floors of green ebony. Authentic African art, fabrics, and hand-hewn wooden furnishings make this villa unique, a study in white with some ocher tiled floors. A family or double-couples will love this villa with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a well-equipped, French cook's kitchen. On the back lawn, a grill and a maxi-market umbrella shading a teak table and chairs invite alfresco dining. Guests have pool privileges at a nearby boutique hotel/restaurant. Pictures of the villa are available from the villa manager, Marie Montabord Marc. Weekly maid service provided. Pros: gorgeous ocean views; diving float; 10 minutes by small boat to two islets. Cons: a car is a must; the road is "rough."
