Fodor's Review

Long one of our favorites, this heavenly hideaway is now a moderne, Martinique landmark. Accommodations are in creole cases (cottages)—painted red, purple, and subtle earth tones—with contemporary bathrooms, and terraces that maximize the glorious sea view. The decor throughout is enlivened with the designer offerings from Bangkok, repurposed natural materials, paintings and objets d'art. Scattered among the lush grounds are five cases with multiple accommodations—some are bi-level—and most (not the guest rooms) have private plunge pools; massages and other spa services are available. With a koi fish pond at its entrance, the terrace restaurant also boasts a deck with monumental bay views. Renovations in 2013 for the Master Rooms included new plunge pools, expanded decks, an additional bed and a second, larger, handsomely tiled bathroom as well as exterior beautification projects for the hotel. The real Plein Soleil experience is the “Suite-Life.” Breakfast is now optional and not included in listed rates.
